C. 28804 in pa- to New RR Editor Selected Ramona Griffin a senior psychology/ Spanish major was selected Ridgerunner editor for the 1976-77 academic year at a meeting last Thurs day, March 25. A Hendersonville native, Ms. Griffin plans to graduate next May. During her three years at UNC-A, Ms. Griffin has been involved in the Spa nish Club and has been publicity chairperson of the organization. According to her resume, "I am hope ful that I may offer to the University a newsletter that will be more comprehensive and enjoyable in its presentation of cam pus life." Ms. Griff in'* past experience in cludes articles her high school per and letters editors." Ms. Griffin was selected editor over three other appli cants for the post by an ad hoc committee appointed by the Chan cellor. The committee interviewed each ap plicant seperately and voted six to three for Ms. Griffin. Members of the com mittee included; Dean of Students Tom Deason, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs Roy Riggs, Ridgerunner editor David Ramseur, Ridgerunner business manager Bob Lehman, S.G. President Randy Kindley, two faculty appointed by the Fa culty Senate Chairman and approved by the Senate, and two stu dents appointed by the S.G. President and ap proved by the Student Senate. The faculty members were Dr. Gerald Gullick' son and Dr. Jim Vincent The other student mem bers were John Regis ter and Jackie Stephen son was elected by the Senate. The ad hoc committee chaired by editor Ram seur, had received two applications by its first meeting from CONT. Pg. 3, Col. 3 UNC-A Will Have New Classroom Soon UNC-A should have a new classroom build ing by fall of 1979, as a result of the •passage of the March ,23 bond referendum. The referendum passed in the North Carolina primary election with about 365,000 votes or 54 per cent. UNC-A's Chancellor William E. Highsmith was "very pleased" with the passage of the bond issue. Subsequent jchecks with the Registrar's office have re vealed Kindley's status as a sophomore. WUNF-FM radio station manager Larry Warren said last week he is finally stepping down from the post he has held since 1974. The se lection of a new manager is scheduled for mid April by the station's executive committee composed of faculty, students and administra tion. Warren said his desire to graduate and the fact that he is simply tired of managing the station are the reasons for his decision. Production director and DJ Curt Wright appears to be Warren's likely successor.
